Anne Thalheimer

Anne has been the treasurer of the Holyoke Local Cultural Council since 2014, and was a graduate of the WayFinders’ (formerly HAP Housing) Resident Leadership Program in 2015. In her work as the Survivor Engagement Lead for Massachusetts for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, and as one of 100 Everytown Survivor Fellows nationwide, she helped organize Holyoke’s first annual Wear Orange event in June 2017, to recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day in concert with the Mayor’s Office. Anne earned a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Delaware and a B.A. from Simon’s Rock College of Bard. She has worked as an educator for over 20 years, specializing in work with ESL/EFL students and second-language acquisition.
